Current openings: We are always looking for qualified Industrial Audiometric Technicians (IATs) and motivated individuals to join our team.
Industrial Audiometric Technician (IAT)
We are seeking WorkSafeBC-authorized IATs to join our mobile testing team. As an IAT with A.A. Audio Lab, you will operate our state-of-the-art mobile testing trucks and provide hearing tests to workers across BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile hearing testing equipment at client worksites
- Conduct hearing tests and record audiometric results
- Counsel workers on test results and hearing protection
- Maintain testing equipment and documentation
- Travel to client locations across British Columbia
- Submit test results to WorkSafeBC
Requirements
- Valid WorkSafeBC Industrial Audiometric Technician (IAT) certification — or willingness to obtain it
- Completion of BCIT's Industrial Audiometric Technician Training Course
- Valid BC driver's license (clean driving record)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and travel to worksites
How to Become an IAT
If you are not yet certified, the path to becoming an IAT involves:
- Complete the Industrial Audiometric Technician Training Course at BCIT
- Pass the BCIT exam and agree to WorkSafeBC's Terms and Conditions and Code of Practice
- Be hired by an authorized IAB (like A.A. Audio Lab) or an employer with a hearing conservation program
- Submit an Application for Authorization to Conduct Hearing Tests (Form 51M13) to WorkSafeBC
- Complete a one-day refresher course within one year, then every two years thereafter

Driver / Technician Support
We also hire driver/technician support staff to assist with mobile testing unit operations, equipment setup, and client coordination. Training may be provided for the right candidate.
